Mr. Deakins

asked the Minister for the Civil Service if the Megaw committee of inquiry will be taking evidence from outside the Government and the Civil Service.

I understand that the committee of inquiry will be inviting a very wide range of evidence from both outside and inside the Government and the Civil Service. Evidence to the inquiry should be addressed to the secretary of the inquiry into Civil Service pay, 22 Kingsway, London WC2B 6Jy.

asked the Minister for the Civil Service how Civil Service salaries are settled in other Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries; and if evidence on this will be taken into account by the Megaw committee of inquiry.
