Mr. Forrester

asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) if he will introduce regulations to require all factories making or storing potentially dangerous substances to display a notice on the outside of the building indicating the contents of the materials inside;

(2) what recent recommendations have been made by the advisory committee on major hazards about the storage of highly flammable materials; and whether he will now require all firms to notify the Health and Safety Executive when more than two tons of hazardous materials is being stored;

(3) if the advisory committee on dangerous substances has had an opportunity to study the results of pilot studies into the problems of buildings or places containing dangerous substances; and what were the conclusions and recommendations.
