§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeIn England 45 miles of motorway should have been started by the end of the year, including 2.6 miles of local authority motorway for which 100 per cent. grant is being provided by my Department. In addition, advanced works are starting on two schemes for which the main works, totalling eight miles should start in 1982. Thirty-six miles are expected to open during 1981, including one mile of 100 per cent. grant-aided motorway.
