HC Deb 30 July 1981 vol 9 c472W
Mr. J. Enoch Powell

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether the issue of season tickets for travel in the Greater London area between home arid Westminster to hon. Members over the age which qualifies for free travel on London Transport will now cease.

Mr. Pym

The issue of permits for free travel on London Transport to persons of pensionable age is subject to a number of conditions, one of which precludes travel before 9.30 am on weekdays. Such a restriction is unlikely to be acceptable to hon. Members generally, but it is of course open to any hon. Member who is prepared to accept this limitation to make personal application to a post office for a permit and to surrender his season ticket to the Fees Office so that a refund may be obtained.
