Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister whether, in addition to her proposed visit to Toxteth, Liverpool, she will also visit the scenes of other disturbances at Bristol, Brixton, Finsbury Park, Forest Gate, Wood Green, Woolwich, Fulham, Moss Side, Manchester and Lewisham.

I have recently visited Liverpool and Brixton, and have had a meeting with community leaders from Southall. I have no immediate plans to visit the other are as listed by the hon. Member.

asked the Prime Minister whether she will make a statement on the areas where riots have occurred which she has visited since they occurred; what similar areas she proposed to visit; and when the previous occasion was when she paid a visit to these areas.

I respect of Liverpool, I refer the hon. Member to the reply I have given today to the hon. Member for Liverpool, Scotland Exchange (Mr. Parry). I have also paid a brief visit to Brixton, and I have a meeting with community leaders from Southall. I have no immediate plans for visits to other areas where there have been disturbances recently, althouth I shall take account of these events in planning my visits around the country.
