§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the views of the Government on the report "Families in Flats"; and what action he proposes to take to assist local authorities to implement the report's recommendations.
§ Mr. StanleyI have drawn the report to the attention of authorities generally. I am sure that the authorities concerned will carefully consider the relevance of the report to families living in local authority multi-storey flats in their own areas. Authorities will continue to be able to apply for assistance under the urban programme with, for example, the provisions of recreational and play facilities for estates of multi-storey flats.
