§ Mr. Douglasasked the Secretary of State for Defence if, in view of the implications of Cmnd. 8288, "The United Kingdom Defence Programme: The Way Forward", for employment in the Royal dockyards and naval bases, he will give his estimates of employment in each of these establishments—industrial, non-industrial and service personnel—on a yearly basis to 1984.
§ Mr. BlakerUndertakings have been given that there will be consultation with trade unions on the implementation of the proposed changes in the naval bases and royal dockyards. In advance of this consultation it is not possible to give detailed year-by-year figures.
