asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give a percentage breakdown by sex of the numbers remaining at school beyond statutory leaving age in each of the past five years.

The following table shows the percentage breakdown by sex of the numbers of pupils aged 16 and over who remained at school beyond the statutory leaving age in sessions 1975–76 to 1979–80.
