HC Deb 26 January 1981 vol 997 c284W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will provide details as to the diagnostic criteria, including bacteriological confirmation, of the epidemics that occurred in West Glamorgan with reference to the disease Rubella, when apparently there was an unusually high incidence of the disease and a low immunity against it, to such an extent that his Department is using these examples as part of a campaign to encourage the greater uptake of this form of preventive immunisation.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The information is not available centrally. Diagnostic criteria including the need for laboratory confirmation of Rubella in individual cases are matters for the clinical judgment of the doctor concerned.
