asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will ensure that all new towns publish their population statistics in their annual reports.

Development corporations are encouraged to provide statistical information in their annual reports but it is for the corporations themselves to decide what general information is needed to reflect their progress. All of the new towns except Northampton give the population figures in their March 1980 reports. Telford quotes a figure in the second paragraph of its report.
