§ Mr. Crowtherasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will make a statement on the future of the national anti-waste programme.
§ Mr. MacGregorThe Government remain committed to waste management, reclamation and recycling. Units with responsibility for these aspects of Government policy will be retained in the Department of Industry, and the Department of the Environment and will continue to work closely together on this important subject.
§ Mr. Crowtherasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will take steps to improve and extend the reclamation and recycling of waste.
§ Mr. MacGregorThe Department will continue to take a close interest in the reclamation and recycling of waste. It is however for the industry to take the necessary steps to ensure that where it is economic to do so, waste materials are recycled rather than disposed of.
