asked the Secretary of State for Industry, following the communiqué signed by the right hon. Member for Chesterfield (Mr. Varley) and the Polish Vice Minister for Foreign Trade and Shipping on 21 November 1977, if he will give details of the current trading position of the Anglo-Polish Shipping Venture Co. Ltd.

The trading position of the Anglo-Polish Shipping Venture Co. Ltd., a company registered in Poland in which British Shipbuilders has a 50 per cent. stake, is a matter for British Shipbuilders.
