HC Deb 26 January 1981 vol 997 c285W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what study he has given to the qualifications of the three researchers nominated by the Welsh Trades Union Congress to examine co-operatives at a remuneration of £27.50 per hour; and if he will publish in the Official Report the full schedule of travel to be undertaken in connection with this study at a cost of £9,800 to public funds.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

I have accepted the Wales TUC's proposal on the basis that the study will be carried out by staff of a consultancy firm with experience of research into co-operatives assisted by a staff member of Ruskin college, Oxford, at present attached to the Wales TUC. The estimates for travel and other related expenses referred to relate mainly to travel within the United Kingdom, but allow for a contribution of about £2,400 towards costs of a study trip to Mondragon in Spain.
