§ Mr. Maxwell-Hyslopasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he will arrange for vehicle excise licences to be renewable at sub-post offices as well as at Crown post offices.
§ Mr. FowlerI have arranged for the number of post offices which renew vehicle excise licences to be increased from 2,000 to 3,000. Most of the additional offices are sub-post offices, bringing the total of licensing sub-post offices to 1,400. I shall keep the extended service under review, in particular to see whether in some areas additional outlets may be beneficial.
