HC Deb 16 January 1981 vol 996 c612W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will now introduce legislation abolishing tax on retirement pensions; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Rees

[pursant to his reply, 12 January 1981]: I have no plans to do so. A pensioner with no income other than the national insurance retirement pension would be below the income tax threshold.
