HC Deb 15 January 1981 vol 996 cc590-1W
Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will publish in the Official Report the statutory provisions under which an allotment tenant may be given three months' notice to quit.

Mr. Monro

There is no statutory provision which would enable an allotment tenancy to be terminated by three months' notice to quit. But a tenancy may, in some circumstances, be terminated by re-entry after three months' notice. The relevant provision is section 1 of the Allotments Act 1922 (as amended by section 1 of the Allotments Act 1950).

Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will list in the Official Report the number of terminations of tenancy at three months' notice issued in accordance with the Allotments Acts 1908 to 1950 for each of the last five years.
