HC Deb 14 January 1981 vol 996 cc529-30W
Mr. Tilley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is his estimate of the number of United Kingdom passport-holder heads of household eligible for the special voucher scheme who have not applied for a voucher.

Mr. Peter Blaker:

I have been asked to reply.

Details are not held in the form requested. Estimates based on information at our missions overseas are that some 35,600 heads of household and dependants eligible to come here under the special voucher scheme live in East Africa and some 39,000 live in India. Estimates of those living elsewhere are not readily available.
