asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the new scale of allowances for volunteers in the Royal Observer Corps.

There are a number of allowances and grants which are paid to volunteers in the Royal Observer Corps and reviewed each year. I am writing to my hon. Friend to give him the details of the rates payable with effect from I June 1980.
