§ Mr. Pendryasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will ensure that the employment rehabilitation centre in Denton, which serves disabled people in Stalybridge and Hyde will not be adversely affected by the Manpower Services Commission's review of such centres.
§ Mr. Peter MorrisonI attach great importance to maintaining a suitable rehabilitation service for disabled people generally, including the Stalybridge and Hyde area. A recent Manpower Services Commission report suggests a number of experimental developments designed to improve its employment rehabilitation service for 467W disabled people. The commission's proposed corporate plan for 1981–85 makes proposals for the provision of employment rehabilitation in the future. These proposals have not yet been approved by my right hon. Friend, who is giving particular consideration to this aspect.
