§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeSchool entrance markings are at the moment advisory. Some years ago the Greater London Council conducted trials with mandatory markings. These trials showed no difference between the effectiveness of advisory and mandatory markings. Another similar experiment has now been undertaken and we will study its findings and consider the case for any change again.
