§ Mr. Eadieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what reply he has given Midlothian district council arising out of its most recent approach to him on the subject of the construction of new firing ranges at Castlelaw.
§ Mr. RifkindI informed the council on 3 November that as the decision on the planning considerations affecting the development at Castlelaw had been taken, my right hon. Friend could not consider the matter further as Planning Minister, and that, since the decision to proceed now rested with the Ministry of Defence, it was open to the council to pursue the points it wished to make with that Ministry.
