The figures differ slightly from those obtained by comparing the latest available information relating to the period 29 November 1974 to 30 September 1981 published in tables 4 and 5 of the Home Office Statistical Bulletin 25/81 with the corresponding information for 29 November 1974 to 31 December 1980 published in Home Office Statistical Bulletin 1/81 because the principal offence charged may change.
