HC Deb 03 December 1981 vol 14 c210W
Mr. Hoyle

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give the names of the four community health councils which made representations against the allocation of funds to home defence planning posts; and what form the representations took.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

The Bexley, Islington, North Camden and Walsall community health councils have each made representations which expressed opposition to the allocation of funds for the creation of home defence planning posts and suggested that the money should be diverted to other National Health Service activities.

Mr. Hoyle

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services from which budgets funds were made available to meet the £400,000 commitment in respect of home defence planning posts mentioned in his reply to the hon. Member for Warrington on 11 November, Official Report, column 113.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

The additional sum required for home defence planning posts will be found within the total expenditure incurred on NHS administrative services.
