HC Deb 03 December 1981 vol 14 cc220-1W
Mr. Meacher

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what progress he has made in implementing the Black report on inequalities in health; what plans he has for implementing further specific recommendations in future; and on what time scale.

Dr. Vaughan

The report made 37 recommendations, not all addressed to the Department, some involving expenditure on a scale which cannot be contemplated. Others are consistent with our policies and priorities for the health and personal social services set out in "Care in Action" which authorities are expected to follow as circumstances permit, or are subsumed in separate action by the Department.
