§ Mr. Sainsburyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has now completed his consultations on the draft code of guidance on fire precautions in residential homes for the elderly.
§ Mr. MayhewWe have consulted other Departments concerned and the fire service interests, and the draft guide is now being revised in the light of the comments received. As soon as a satisfoctory revised draft is available, we shall seek the comments of social services authorities and those responsible for providing and operating residential care premises in the private sector.
