§ Mr. Alexander FletcherMy right hon. Friend has asked the Scottish Development Agency to pay particular attention to the needs of the area, and it has established an office in Dundee with the specific remit of co-ordinating its activities in the area and encouraging development of small businesses. In addition to its environmental work, it plans to spend some £6 million in the city on an extensive programme of factory building and renovation; and in consultation with the local authorities, it is developing strategic plans for development in the longer term on the waterfront and at Blackness.
