HC Deb 27 October 1980 vol 991 c82W
Mr. Speller

asked the Prime Minister if she will consider appointing a specific Minister for Exports to assist British industry and commerce to make the most of export opportunities.

The Prime Minister:

I have no plans to do so. All Ministers, when they travel abroad, take every opportunity to advance the commercial interests of our companies. The Secretary of State for Trade is responsible for general overseas trade policy. He and the Minister for Trade travel extensively at home and overseas to help British exporters maximise their export opportunities.
