§ 16. Mr. Hendersonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the Government's proposals for legislation regarding Scottish local government.
§ Mr. RifkindMy right hon. Friend is proposing to introduce tomorrow a Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Bill which will include measures on rate support grant and other local government finance 91W matters. It will also provide for the relaxation of a number of controls over local government and for the abolition of certain non-departmental public bodies.
