asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many people have joined the Royal Air Force since February 1980.

In the period 1 February to 31 October 1980, a total of 8,712 people joined the Royal Air Force.

§ Mr. Nicholas Winterton
asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many officers of the Royal Air Force have resigned their commissions since February 1980.

§ Mr. Pattie
In the period 1 February to 31 October 1980, a total of 32 officers resigned their commissions. In addition, 205 officers left the Service under the terms of the premature voluntary release scheme.
