HC Deb 24 November 1980 vol 994 cc31-2W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what evaluation and assessment he has made in the light of the debriefings made after Exercise Crusader in September of the need to replace vehicles which have ended their useful life with the Army and the Territorial Army, of the type made at Stonefield Vehicles, Cumnock, to approved Army specifications; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hayhoe

The Army's requirements for load-carrying vehicles are kept under review in the light of all relevant factors including exercise experience. Analysis of Exercise Crusader is not yet complete, but has so far not indicated a requirement for a purchase of the type of vehicle to which the hon. Member refers.
