HC Deb 24 November 1980 vol 994 c11W
32. Mr. Butcher

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what is the estimated potential value to the United Kingdom aerospace industry of the Rolls-Royce RB 211–535 bid for the Delta Airlines Boeing 757 contract.

Mr. Adam Butler

At 1980 price levels, the value of engines for 60 757 aircraft could be expected to be of the order of $400 million. It is probable that, in addition, spare engines and spare parts would add substantially to the value of any contract.
