in table 5 of the social Work Services Group's statistical bulletin "Residential Accommodation for Children, 1979, Scotland (RC3/1980)" which is available in the House of Commons Library. The figures for the year to 31 March 1980 are as follows:

In the period 1 January 1979 to 30 September 1980, 116 persons were detained in Scotland under section 12(1) of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1976. Separate figures for arrests under section 12(1) (a), (b) and (c) and separate Scottish figures for years prior to 1979 could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
