HC Deb 13 November 1980 vol 992 cc341-2W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will publish in the Official Report the names and addresses of the schools where petition forms on the H Block issue are being circulated; and whether proceedings have been instituted against any of the school managers concerned.

Mr. Goodhart

Petition forms on the H-Block issue have been in the hands of some pupils in a number of schools, but my noble Friend has no evidence of any involvement by teachers or school managers and no proceedings have been instituted. Regulations made under the Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 provide that schools should not be used for the transaction of any political business and it is the responsibility of managers to ensure that they are not.
