HL Deb 06 November 1980 vol 414 c1194WA
Lord HOUGHTON of SOWERBY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

From which ports in England and Wales live food animals are exported for slaughter or further fattening; and what volume of export has taken place from each of the ports concerned, showing separately calves, cattle, sheep and lambs in the last period of twelve months for which figures are available.

Earl FERRERS

The following table shows the number of animals intended for export for slaughter or further fattening passed as fit to travel by Government veterinary officers in the 12 months to 18th October 1980. Separate figures for lambs and sheep are not available. No calves were exported for immediate slaughter.
