Beyond that, I have no plans at present to increase training facilities as a means of reducing unemployment, but I am concerned that our industrial training arrangements should make a more effective contribution to meeting the need for trained manpower.
I shall be considering shortly within the limits of the resources available the proposals which the MSC will put forward in the light of its consideration of the review of the Employment and Training Act, or more generally in its corporate plan for the coming years.
