HC Deb 03 November 1980 vol 991 cc442-3W
Mr. John Home Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how much his Department is spending on advertising council houses for sale.

Mr. Rifkind

The amount allotted for paid publicity in connection with all aspects of the Tenants' Rights Etc (Scotland) Act 1980 in the current financial year is £69,000. To date £56,000 has been spent on advertising and the production of an associated leaflet and poster; almost all of that sum can be related to publicity for the right to buy which is conferred by the Act.
