asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he is taking part in any consultations or any plans which he considers could lead to substantial increases in the volume of coal imported into the United Kingdom.

No. The choice of supplier is a commercial decision for the coal consumers. However the bulk of United Kingdom demand is supplied from indigenous sources and as long as United Kingdom production is competitive this will continue to be the case.
