HC Deb 21 May 1980 vol 985 c252W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what steps he is taking to improve road communications and other infrastructure services to Holyhead, in view of its strategic importance to the economy of Gwynedd.

Mr. Michael Roberts

The various improvement schemes to the A55 which are under way or in course of preparation will materially improve communications to Holyhead. In addition, a study is in hand of how the A5 from Llanfair PG to Holyhead might be improved to meet long term needs. Matters to do with rail and port facilities are for my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport.
