§ Mr. Bradfordasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the total expenditure for the purchase of all private property which the Housing Executive has acquired to use in redeveloping the St. Matthew's area of Belfast; and if he will list the properties and their respective cost individually.
§ Mr. Goodhart[pursuant to his reply 19 May 1980, c. 83]: This is a matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, but I understand that the estimated cost of property in the St. Matthew's area acquired by vesting order has been assessed by the district valuer at £2.8 million.
The vested area includes over 950 properties and compensation negotiations have not yet been completed in a number of cases. Listing in the Official Report individual properties and their cost is therefore not a practical proposition.
