asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the extent of British fishing vessels' rights of entry into Canada's 200-mile zone under the current agreement; how much fish the United Kingdom is allowed to catch there; how much each the United Kingdom and European Economic Community partner

Specific limits on the numbers of licences granted to member States are not included in the 1980 European Community Canadian framework agreement but notional catch rates per day, which are used to calculate the number of vessels required to catch the above quotas, have been agreed with the Canadian authorities. Accordingly, one United Kingdom fishing vessel has been licensed to fish in Canadian waters in 1980.

The agreement is not concerned with trade in fish products.
