§ Sir Ian GilmourWe are in close and continuous consultation with our partners and allies. My right hon. and noble Friend, for example, paid a very useful visit to the United States last week. A meeting of Allied Foreign and Defence Ministers is taking place in Brussels today. Several Western leaders will be meeting in Venice on 22/23 June. It is not clear, however, that a specially convened summit conference of world leaders would help to reduce international tension at this stage.
