§ 18. Mr. Hicksasked the Lord Privy Seal what further steps he proposes to take in conjunction with his European 501W Economic Community colleagues to assist the role of the United Nations forces in Southern Lebanon and to restore the authority of the Lebanese Government in that area.
Mr. HardWe and our partners in the Nine have both publicly and privately expressed our concern about the situation in Southern Lebanon. We still continue to support efforts to enable UNIFIL to fulfil its mandate and we welcome the initiatives being undertaken by the UNIFIL contributor countries to improve the effectiveness of the force.
