HL Deb 08 May 1980 vol 408 cc1895-6WA
Baroness JEGER

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When it is expected that the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital will be fully functioning again; and what financial provision is being made for both capital and current expenditure.

Lord CULLEN of ASHBOURNE

Agreement has been reached on the first phase of redevelopment of the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital and a project team has begun detailed planning. It is hoped that work on the temporary out-patients department will begin later this year; that a start on the in-patient facilities will be made in mid-1981; and that work will be completed by late 1982. The Government will fund the cost of the first phase of redevelopment but further development will depend on what funds become available from other sources. Financial provision for revenue expenditure on the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital is available within the allocation to the North East Thames Regional Health Authority.
