HL Deb 08 May 1980 vol 408 c1895WA
Baroness JEGER

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make a statement on the present position in Cyrpus, including a report of the recent visit of the Lord Privy Seal.

Lord CARRINGTON

My right honourable friend's visit enabled him to assess the situation at first hand. He reiterated to the parties the Government's hope for sufficient flexibility to be shown on all sides to permit an early resumption of the intercommunal talks; and made clear the Government's full support for United Nations efforts to that end.
