§ Mr. Peter Robinsonasked the Attorney-General, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Antrim, North, Official Report, 17 April, column 701, what is the present location of the magistrates' court serving the borough of Castlereagh; what proposal he has to change this location to within the council; what consultation he has had with the district council concerning a change of location; and if alternatives have been suggested by that council.
The Solicitor-GeneralThe magistrates' court serving the Castlereagh district is at present located temporarily in Newtownards court house pursuant to a direction of the resident magistrate given under section 13(1) of the Administration of Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 1954. A search for suitable accommodation within the district commenced in October 1979 and is still continuing. There have been no consultations between the Northern Ireland court service and the council, but the town clerk was informed of the recent direction for the temporary transfer of sittings. The council suggested two alternative locations for the court and these are being considered.
