asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they still believe that the rate of retail price inflation will be reduced to 14 per cent. between the fourth quarter of 1979 and the fourth quarter of 1980, and that during this interval the United Kingdom's cost and price competitiveness will not change greatly from its recent level, as forecast in Her Majesty's Treasury Economic Progress Report Supplement, December

The Government will be publishing with the Budget in two weeks time a forecast of the change in the retail price index.
