asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he has received any observations from the chairman of the Post Office on the question of the postal monopoly; what have been the observations of the Post Office; and whether he will make a statement.

The chairman of the Post Office has given his views on this subject to my right hon. Friend, who is considering them and will make a statement on the subject of the letter monopoly as soon as possible.
