HC Deb 07 March 1980 vol 980 c370W
Mr. Foster

asked the Secretary of State for Employment, if the Darlington Skillcentre is closed, where he would expect additional training places to be available.

Mr. Jim Lester

[pursuant to his reply, 5 March 1980, c. 203]: I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that no additional training places will be made available in view of the over-provision of skillcentre places in the North-East. Darlington skillcentre is considerably under-utilised at present and if it is closed there will be adequate spare capacity available at Durham, Billing-ham and Middlesbrough skillcentres to cope with demand from the Darlington area.
