HC Deb 06 March 1980 vol 980 cc307-8W
Dr. McDonald

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what would be the net cost of allowing married and cohabiting women to claim invalid care allowance at 1979–80 benefit rates.

Mr. Prentice

[pursuant to his reply, 25 July 1979, c. 312]: I wish to give the following corrected information. It is estimated that, at the benefit rates to be introduced in November 1979, it would cost between *£23 million and *£36 million to extend title to invalid care allowance to married and cohabiting women.
