HC Deb 05 March 1980 vol 980 c189W
15. Mr Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will indicate the scope of the current review of the general development order; and when it is likely to be concluded.

Mr. Rifkind

The main proposals we have made in the current review of the general development order are to reduce planning controls over developers by increasing the limits on developments that automatically receive planning permission and to introduce a system of neighbour notification. A number of minor amendments are also proposed. We are considering comments and hope to make a revised order shortly.
